Maintenance Technician
Job Duties
Troubleshoot and repair machinery in a timely efficient and safe manner while minimizing impact to production operations.
Use machine manuals, drawings and schematics to perform maintenance tasks.
Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
Reassemble equipment after completion of maintenance or repairs.
Find and order replacement parts for existing equipment.
Perform basic electrical troubleshooting using a multimeter.
Use basic measuring tools, and hand (Impact wrenches, torque, wrenches), power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools as necessary.
May use overhead crane and forklift. Must be willing to get certified, if needed.
May assist in maintaining and scheduling preventative maintenance (PM) of production and facility machinery and equipment. Keep records of PM tasks performed and adhere to PM schedule. Use computerized maintenance (CM) program for recordkeeping and scheduling tasks.
Perform preventative maintenance activities based on a schedule. Maintain records of activities. Clean, lubricate, and adjust part, machinery and equipment.
Order necessary parts for repair of machinery and equipment. Initiate purchase requisitions when outside repairs are needed.
Coordinate with outside vendors to perform PM or maintenance tasks.
Record and track repairs and maintenance performed.
Ensure and maintain up to date operating manuals for machinery and equipment.
Keep Maintenance Department organized and clean.
Work with TPM Manager and Lead on prioritization of tasks.Inform TPM Manager or Lead if · issues arise
Work with team to perform emergency breakdown repairs in the safest and efficient manner while minimizing equipment downtime.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and continuous improvement activities. Help develop and maintain 6S standards.
Assist production and EH&S to address safety issues to mitigate or eliminate safety hazards.
May conduct electrical tests, if needed.
May have to work outside normal working hours to perform repairs or maintenance on equipment and machines.
Ensure tasks are performed according to organizational requirements for quality management and environmental, health and safety standards, policies and procedures.
Comply with all company policies, procedures and rules.
Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of their work area.
Complete other duties and work in other areas as assigned by the Company, whether or not trained in the area. This includes performing housekeeping tasks.
Work/Education Experience Requirements
Basic working knowledge and experience with pneumatics and hydraulics required.
1+ years experience in similar role in manufacturing environment preferred.
Must have good manual dexterity to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic tools as needed.
Basic welding, fabrication and troubleshooting skills preferred.
Ability to take direction from lead/management to complete daily tasks.
Follow all company safety rules, policies and procedures.
Must be able to be on call when needed to respond to off shift maintenance needs.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to thrive in a team environment and work with necessary supervision, if needed.
Must be reliable and have good attendance. Must adhere to company’s Time & Attendance policy.
Must have ability to read and interpret machine manuals, drawings and schematics.
Must have basic math and computer skills, have strong attention to detail and the ability to respond to changing priorities.
Experience operating forklift and overhead cranes preferred. Must be willing to get trained and certified in crane and forklift operation, if needed.
General knowledge of lock out/tag out techniques preferred
High school diploma/GED required. Associates degree in electronics, industrial maintenance or other relevant area preferred.
